Rhomberg Sersa Australia (RSA) was engaged by ARTC to deliver complex upgrade works in the Kerrabee Tunnel, located on the Hunter Valley Ulan Single Line. The works
aimed to enhance track reliability and reduce future maintenance requirements in a constrained and high-risk tunnel environment.

The project required careful planning, multi-disciplinary coordination, and robust logistics due to the remote site location and high-risk operational constraints.

Scope of Works

  • Tunnel formation excavation and reconditioning Installation of drainage and water management controls
  • Rock bolting to secure tunnel structure and improve safety
  • Track re-alignment and geometry correction within the tunnel
  • Surveying and validation of tunnel alignment and formation
  • Delivery of works across four major possessions Continuous monitoring
